Forward floating for 6 month olds

Updated: Aug 14, 2024

Our 3-12 month students will be learning the basics of water entry and submersion. Through the use of verbal cues we can teach our little swimmers to expect water and hold their breath on command.

Once they are holding their breath on cue, we look to build on that capability firstly through assisted submersions (when they are being held) through to unassisted forward floats.

By focusing on developing their breath holding skills we can have them well prepared to kick themselves forward as their kicking develops around 12 months of age.
